Description CO2 Ex
This was our April Fool's joke
As with any electrical device, operating a computer generates CO2. And even as a geek, you should try to do everything against climate change. What could be more obvious than preventing your computer's CO2 emissions? With the new CO2 Ex, this is no longer a problem:
The CO2 Ex consists of a novel CO2 separation device, which is simply clamped behind your computer's power supply fan. The CO2-laden air from inside your PC is then no longer simply blown into the environment, but instead bound in the CO2 Ex through a chemical reaction. Only pure air comes out of the CO2 Ex. The same principle is used to keep the new coal power plants CO2-free. The separated CO2 is compressed and collected in a waste container, which must be emptied after about 100 hours of operation. Disposal is not a problem: you can simply use the compressed CO2 as fertilizer in the garden (or give it to someone who has a garden).
The CO2 Ex requires 12V for power supply and connects via your computer's standard power supply. It consumes about 20W in operation (compared to the over 200W of a conventional PC, this is negligible). The CO2 filter used lasts at least 20,000 hours, which corresponds to over 2 years of continuous operation. However, you cannot buy the filter as a replacement.
