Cold hands are simply annoying. Apart from the fact that they feel uncomfortable, they can prevent you from using your smartphone properly. And we can't let that happen! To help you get through the cold seasons safely, we have developed a plutonium hand warmer! As you're probably wondering how you can start the little nuclear power plant, we've written down in true nerd style what you need to do:

Before using it for the first time, the inside of the pocket warmer should be liquid. Press on the metal plate inside so that it cracks once and the sodium acetate inside begins to crystallize. This solidifies the liquid and releases the stored energy as heat. The "plutonium" reaches a temperature of 53 °C. Now all you have to do is put it in your jacket pocket and, well warmed up, defy the onslaught of the cold. :)

To use your pocket warmer more than once, you need to recharge it with energy, so to speak. To do this, you need a pot, water and perhaps a spoon. Bring the water to the boil in the pot and place the pocket warmer in it. To prevent the "plutonium" from sticking to the bottom of the pot, you can help a little with the spoon. The pocket warmer is boiled until all the crystals are liquid again, which takes about 5-10 minutes. As soon as it has cooled down again, it is ready for its next use in the inhospitable outdoors.

Caution: Due to the metal it contains, the pocket warmer must not be heated in the microwave. And of course the pocket warmer does not contain any real plutonium, it just looks like the symbol of the element from the periodic table. Sorry, dear IAEA... ;)
